Instagram will have a function to control unwanted content, according to the social network on its website.
“Today we are taking it one step further and launching what we call inappropriate content control, which allows you to determine how much inappropriate content will be reflected in the recommendation section,” the message says.
The new feature will allow you to customize what type of posts a user will see on Instagram and which ones will not be offered to him. First of all, such an opportunity is configured for those who do not want scenes of violence to be displayed in their proposals, the social network specifies.
To configure the control function, the user must go to the “Settings” menu in the upper right corner, then go to the “Account” section and click the “Control of unwanted content” option. The options “Limit” and “Limit more” will be available here. At the same time, users under the age of 18 will not be able to allow a certain type of content.
Earlier, at the end of June, Instagram launched a number of other innovations. So, the application now has the ability to add music to “stories”. In addition, it became possible to create short videos by analogy with the Chinese TikTok.
Instagram will have a service similar to TikTok and music in “stories”
Reels will allow you to shoot 30-second videos and apply effects to them, and the “Music” sticker will allow you to attach tracks to your stories, display lyrics on the screen
Starting June 23, Instagram users will receive several new features, including the ability to add music to their stories, and short video service.
For a number of users, the new functionality of the social network became available a day earlier. A new sticker “Music” is already available on Instagram and Facebook “stories”. He offers to add a track to a video or photo, which can then be published in a story.
The service offers to choose music from its own library, where a wide selection of both domestic and foreign performers is presented. The track can be trimmed, if there is text, it will be automatically displayed on the screen, like in karaoke. Users can choose the design for this mode, sign the title of the track and the name of the artist. In addition, you can now reply to Stories with music.
Another innovation is the short video service Reels, similar to TikTok. Users will now be able to shoot videos up to 30 seconds long, apply AR effects to them, add music from the library, trends, or their own original recordings to them. Such videos can be published either as a post or as a “story”.
Reels will get its own tab in the Instagram interface – in the center of the bottom navigation bar, where there used to be a plus sign for creating new posts.
Story music is not a new feature of Instagram. For users in the US and several other countries, it has been available since 2018. Reels in the West launched last year amid the popularity of TikTok and the possible blocking of the platform in the US.
